I’m the Crafty Feminist — a crafter who happens to be a feminist and a feminist who happens to enjoy crafts.
Sometimes I make make things that are crafty and (hopefully) awesome, and post tutorials so that you can take part in the crafty awesomeness too, if you want. Not everyone has access to expensive supplies and fancy gadgets, so I aim for my crafts to be relatively cheap to make, using easy-to-come-by materials.
And sometimes I have thoughts on feministy stuff, which is where my blog posts come in. I’m by no means an expert on all things feminist, but I have thoughts all the same, and this is where I share them.
So, do feminism and crafting go together, you ask?
The way I see it feminism ‘goes’ with just about everything, because women (and men) have an enormous, never ending range of interests, beliefs, backgrounds and passions. Since anyone and everyone can (and should be) a feminist, that means all those interests, beliefs, backgrounds and passions ‘go’. It’s not about fitting into a label or a stereotype. It’s just about believing in equality and being yourself.
I’m not just a crafter and a feminist. I’m a writer and tea drinker and a proud expat Kiwi (but you can read about that on my other blog, Always A Foreigner). I’m also really into cat videos, I like libraries and I would very much like to be a polyglot.
So that’s me. And this. And everything. Enjoy. If there’s a craft you’d like to see me do or a topic you’d like me to write about, please get in touch.
Cheers 🙂
